The Duct Tape Festival

The Duct Tape Festival starts off with fun and excitement with carnival rides, food, artwork, and, of course, fashion made from duct tape.

The year 2006 gives way to the third annual Duct Tape Festival to be held in Avon, Ohio. As an honor to the sticky duct tape, it takes place on Father’s Day weekend and lasts for three days. Filled with fun for the whole family, the Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival is one that you should not miss.

The main event is centered around the Duck Tape Dad of the Year Contest and as early as March, children over the age of seven and adults alike can enter their father into the contest by writing an essay why their father should be honored as the Duck® brand Duct Tape Dad of the Year. While this contest has only been held regionally for the last two years, it is coming to the front nationwide to help give thanks to all of the dads.

The Duct Tape Festival starts off with fun and excitement with carnival rides, food, artwork, and, of course, fashion made from duct tape. A parade takes place on the morning after the festival kicks off and you’ll find a lot of duct tape comedy within the parade. The festival includes duct tape art exhibits and you can even enjoy the fireworks.

Many people may think that Duck Tape or 3M has something to do with the festival, however, it was simply a small group of townspeople that felt the need to reinstate a festival in their town. They found Henkel Consumer Adhesives who markets Duck® brand duct tape and from there, their idea became the Duct Tape Festival. Home to Duck® brand duct tape, it seemed fitting to have Avon, Ohio as the Duct Tape Capital of the world.

If you want to participate in some “sticky” fun, the Duct Tape Festival is where you’ll want to go. Join in and create an original fashion design from duct tape or simply sit back and watch the duct tape comedy. Whatever you do, you’ll find the Duct Tape Festival to be entertaining.
